Glossary of Terms

Whiskey (also spelt whisky by the British) is a type of spirit made from fermented grain mash. Different grains are used to create different varieties including barley, rye, wheat and corn. The three main countries which produce whiskey are America, Ireland and Scotland, each produced with their own distinct style. Popular brands of whiskey are Jameson, Jack Daniel's and Glenfiddich. Whiskey is often drunk on the rocks, with a mixer or in a cocktail.
