A Sling is a type of cocktail that contains fruit brandy, gin, citrus juice and club soda. It is similar to a Collins cocktail, with the inclusion of fruit brandy. The original and best known Sling cocktail is the Singapore Sling, which originated in a Singapore hotel in 1915 and contains gin, cherry brandy, Benedictine, lemon juice, served in a tall glass with ice, topped with club soda and garnished with a lime peel.
